Our Pathway to Homeownership is being shaped with guidance from trusted professionals who understand both finance and people. With support from Nicki Smith at Equity Resources, we are designing a responsible, realistic framework that helps veterans move from stability to ownership—building credit, financial confidence, and long-term security along the way. This partnership ensures that homeownership is not just a dream at the end of the program, but a reachable, supported outcome rooted in education, planning, and dignity. Guidance for Compliance & Long-Term Success
Guidance from the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development (MDARD) has helped ensure this project is built with accountability at its core. By helping us navigate regulatory requirements and best practices early, MDARD has allowed us to move forward with confidence—designing a homestead that prioritizes safety, compliance, and long-term operational viability. Their involvement helps bridge vision and execution in a way that supports veterans and protects the mission.
Canine Training Program
In partnership with Owned by Ezra, the canine training program is designed to foster trust, responsibility, and connection through structured work with dogs. This collaboration helps create a calm, purpose-driven environment where veterans develop confidence, routine, and meaningful skills. The program reflects a balance of professional training standards and the restorative power of animal-assisted work. Through structured progression and real-world responsibility, veterans gain transferable skills that support long-term employment and independence. Owned by Ezra Canine Training is led by a trainer certified through a military K9 training program.
